Old Dominion University’s Office of Enterprise Research and Innovation (OERI) is the university’s largest division of research. OERI unifies and focuses the advanced research of six distinct and diverse multidisciplinary applied research centers.
OERI has evolved from the Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center (VMASC), which was established in 1997, and has been a secure and applied research and enterprise research facility of ODU. The continued success and growing recognition of VMASC as a global leader in the modeling and simulation sector has underscored the value of unifying research and commercial products.
OERI also manages a robust portfolio of contracts and leads ODU’s engagement in several formal partnerships which provide ODU faculty a pathway to collaborate with other researchers and allows opportunities for the university to contract work with other sponsors.
