Old Dominion University’s Office of Enterprise Research and Innovation (OERI) is the university’s largest research center. OERI aims to modernize and unify the organizational structures of all University research enterprises and hinges on a research community of distinct and diverse multidisciplinary business units.
OERI has evolved from the Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center (VMASC), which was established in 1997, and has been a secure and applied research and enterprise research facility of ODU. The continued success and growing recognition of VMASC as a global leader in the modeling and simulation sector has underscored the value of unifying research and commercial products.
In VMASC’s 25-year-history, the 125-million-dollar research center is a preview of what the OERI hopes to accomplish at the University level.
